I’m hearing ex-Prison Break con Wentworth Miller has expressed interest in taking over the title role in Spartacus: Blood and Sand.
As I reported last week, the Starz series — which briefly considered “closing up shop” after leading man Andy Whitfield dropped out to resume treatment for his Non-Hodgkin lymphoma — is moving forward with the recast option.
But is Miller right for the part? Since his Fox series wrapped, he’s been largely out of the limelight. And when he has been spotted, he hasn’t quite been the picture of buffness that the sand-and-sandals epic demands. Of course, that’s nothing a month or two with a personal trainer couldn’t fix. Your thoughts?
Personally, while I’m kinda psyched that the actor — who’ll always be Popular cheerleader Adam to some of us — is finally ready to get back in the game, he doesn’t seem quite right for Sparty. My first pick remains True Blood‘s ill-fated Cooter, Grant Bowler.
Anyway, I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: Your thoughts?

I think he would do fine for that role, and it would give me a reason to start watching it again. I think he proved in RE: Afterlife that he can handle a action role, so why not Spartacus?

Wentworth Miller in Sparta? If only things can stay the way they were, Andi back in Spartacus S2 and Prison Break still airing with Went, aww to bad. Truethfully, i enjoy see Went as a geniuos were he can put his thinking cap on which would’ve worked with Spartacus S1 as he could figure out a way to get out but Now they’re out, idk. Truly though, putting Wentworth for the part would really get me to continue watching it just because of how entertaining he is…
[SIDE NOTE] :Another acter i would love to see play Spartacus is Gerard Butler. He would be perfect for it…

OMG Wentworth would be so fun to watch in a show like Spartacus. I think he should play it. Plus that would give me reason to continue watching it.

I’ll be Wentworth Miller’s personal trainer any day!! Ha. Seriously, though, I am a trainer. I’m a huge fan of Prison Break. I must have broken the record for how quickly you can finish the series. I never knew addiction until this show. I mean, I was practically doing literary analyses in my head when I wasn’t watching it, as if was in school again. Ha! It kept me up nights and I couldn’t think of anything else until I finished the series. It was the strangest thing that ever happened to me! It was a really well-done show, is all. I think I’ll watch it again, and this time finally convince my husband to watch it! I know he’ll love it. 🙂
Spartacus is good, too. I was wondering when that was going to kick back into gear. Love it! Go, Went!
